About RecapTube

RecapTube turns a YouTube video into a short read: a TL;DR, key points with timestamps, and chapters, in any of 20 languages. It’s free and needs no account.

How it works

• The RecapTube bookmark runs on the YouTube video you’re watching and reads its captions, the same text YouTube shows on screen.
• An AI model (Google Gemini) writes the summary from those captions, in the language you pick.
• Each summary gets its own page, so the next person who wants it gets it instantly.

Limits

• Videos need captions (auto-generated ones are fine) and can be up to 1 hour long.
• Private, age-restricted, and unfinished live videos aren’t supported.
• Summaries are written by AI and can contain mistakes. Timestamps link to the moment on YouTube so you can check.
