Terms of use
Last updated 28 September 2026
RecapTube (recaptube.com and the RecapTube iOS app) turns YouTube videos into short written summaries. By using it you agree to these terms.
What you get
- Summaries are generated by AI from a video’s captions. They can be wrong or incomplete. The video is the source of truth; RecapTube is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of a summary.
- The free service is supported by ads. Summaries that already exist open without charge; new ones are generated after an ad.
- Videos need captions, may be up to three hours long, and may not be age-restricted. Limits can change.
Premium and credits (app)
- Premium is a monthly subscription bought through Apple. It removes ads and lifts the daily limit, within a fair-use cap of 10 hours of video per day. It renews until cancelled in your Apple account settings; Apple’s terms govern billing and refunds.
- Credit packs are consumable purchases measured in minutes of video. A new summary costs the video’s length; a summary that already exists costs half. Credits don’t expire, aren’t transferable, and aren’t refunded once spent. Your balance is tied to an anonymous identifier stored on your device and in your iCloud Keychain.
- Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy. Refund requests go through Apple.
Fair use and abuse
Don’t use automated tools against RecapTube, resell access, or try to extract summaries in bulk. We may slow down or block usage that harms the service or other users.
Content and rights
Videos, titles and thumbnails belong to their creators and to YouTube. Summaries are short, transformative descriptions of a video’s content. If you own a video and want its summary removed, write to hello@recaptube.com.
No warranty
RecapTube is provided as is. We may change or discontinue features at any time. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
